As more importers continue to offer lower plywood prices (particularly from China) there are areas where they can cut costs to reduce prices. INTERGLOBAL FOREST continues to use the same product specifications, and suppliers in offering a consistent product year round. The following points will help minimize field problems for you and your customer year round.

I. HIGHEST QUALITY CORE AVAILABLE
A. #1 Grade inner plies
B. Fewer voids, less overlaps in core than #2 and #3 core
C. 100% kiln dried - Not air dried #2 and #3 core
D. No putty filled edges to conceal core voids

Benefit: Less rework, fewer complaints, attractive core, and improved sales!

II. MOISTURE CONTENT (MC%)
Feature: Purchase and sell panels between 8 to 11% MC (Not 12% to 20%+).

Benefit: Panel stability (less warpage than air dried products), reduce claims and returns, improved profits! Especially as we enter the cold winter months!

III. PLYWOOD THICKNESS
Feature: Meets HPVA thickness specifications (example ¾”)

A. HPVA thickness range: .703” to .750”
B. IHPA thickness range: .689” to .728”
C. InterGlobal Forest (IGF) range: .709” to .728”

Benefit: End user does not have to re-tool, and can mix domestic and import panels. IGF panels meet domestic specs. IHPA panels do not.

IV. PLYWOOD CONSTRUCTION
Feature: 3 Step Lay-up

A. IGF calibrated thickness (-0/+.5mm), not IHPA’s +/- 0.5mm
B. Base coat eliminates core shadows under face/back veneer.

Benefit: Reduced complaints, superior finish product due to true veneer color, and uniform panel for cutting, laminating, machining, and UV finishing.

V. THICK FACE/BACK VENEER
Feature: 0.5mm veneer before sanding, not wet layup veneer (0.3mm).

Benefit: Thicker veneer for customers to finish sand to their specification.
