1. Why do I have to agree to the confidentiality agreement?
A confidentiality agreement is a legal contract, which outlines confidential materials, or knowledge the parties wish to share with one another, but wish to restrict from generalized use. In other words, it is a contract through which the parties agree not to disclose information covered by the agreement. Crown Marketing & Associates, LLC Confidentiality Agreement is critical because the information being conveyed is or consists in part of private information. Confidential information is protected under state law to the extent that the information remains private to ensure that all confidential information remains protected one must extract a promise to keep the information confidential prior to any disclosure.
